Yesterday I witnessed the next generation taking yet another step towards the future during the University of Memphis Class of 2023 senior luncheon. Graduation can be both exciting and overwhelming in the face of what to do in the next step of independence and a vital part of our community.

A lesson I wished I had learned early on in college was the benefit of networking not only within my age group but likewise in the world outside college. In today’s environment with the technology to connect with literally anyone anywhere graduating seniors and college students in general are in a unique position to move their careers like never before.

As one of the most underrated social platforms and one with the best chance of being noticed by someone in a position to hire you, Linkedin is a MUST for any college student, but especially the graduating senior.
